Chicago Maulers
| 2007
Record: 4-2-0 |
Streak: Won 2 |
|
Previous ranking:

The Maulers return to the top of the
Madden League mountain has been a hard road. The offense has
returned to its smash-mouth philosophy and its pass attempts have
slowly dwindled to the fewest in the league. Meanwhile, the defense
has found new life, pressuring quarterbacks and running lanes with
equal aplomb. DE Dwight Freeney leads all defenders with 8 sacks. |

Twin City Terror

3-3-0 |
Streak: Won 1 |

The Terror have been the surprise of
the season's first half. Now its time for them to make their move.
The defense is stout and is darn right stingy in the red zone,
allowing the fewest scores when their backs are against their own
goal line. The offense prefers to travel by air and can score from
anywhere. WR Marvin Harrison leads all receivers with 118 yards per
game and 8 total
touchdowns. |

Colorado Rage
| 2007 Record:
3-3-0 |
Streak: Lost 1 |
|
Previous ranking: 2t |
|
All reasons for Colorado's struggles
point to a familiar problem: The Rage can score a ton of points but
can't seem to stop anyone. The answer may lie in changes to
personnel or scheme, but confidence -- be it over- or a lack thereof
-- is perhaps the most likely culprit. Steady quarterback play is a
good place to start, and the Rage have a great one in Carson Palmer
and his league-leading efficiency. |

Anchorage Yeti |
2007 Record: 2-4-0 |
Streak: Lost 2 |
|
Previous ranking: 2t |
|
The Yeti have dropped 4 of the last 5
games and the wheels appear all but off the cart. The defense has
been hammered on the ground and needs a back-to-the-basics approach.
Still, for all the struggles, they are keeping teams out of the
end-zone, and that has kept games close. While QB Tom Brady leads
the league in first downs, he's also first in pass attempts, and
needs help from the Anchorage running game. |
